Spring and summer see the Val Montjoie become a colourful and
peaceful haven, ideal for complete relaxation or to enjoy the
many activities available in the village. Twisting in and out
of the pine forest, alongside the lovely Bon Nant river, a pretty
path leads you to the natural park area, well away from any traffic.
Here there are 8 championship tennis courts, adventure courses,
a rock climbing school, horse riding, donkey rides, archery, golf
driving and mini-golf, with a bar and restaurant overlooking a
small swimming and boating lake. Other more exciting activities
such as rafting and paragliding are available close by in the
Mont Blanc Region. St Gervais, just 10 minutes away, has an open-air
swimming pool. Days out to Chamonix, Annecy, the Mont Blanc Tramway
and the breathtaking Aiguille du Midi cable car are all within
easy reach of the village by car.

The village lies at the heart of a renowned walking area and
the chalet itself is very close to the famous GR5 and Tour de
Mont Blanc routes. The walks in and around the village are well
marked and cater for all levels of experience and fitness. The
cable cars are open in July and August giving access to some more
gentle walks above the village, and to some excellent mountain
restaurants with spectacular views.
Mountain Biking
The area is popular with mountain bikers and offers well-marked
routes at various levels of difficulty. Mountain bikes can be
carried on the village cable cars.
Just tell us what you would like to do and we will arrange it
for you, including equipment hire if necessary. For the more adventurous
pursuits we can recommend a qualified mountain guide.

The village lifts are open to take your bike up and there are plenty of well marked and maintained tracks to follow including the new Diamond Verte biking route which covers several other resorts as well as Les Contamines – we can probably even find you a guide if you prefer. Please ask the price for a catered package, to include transfers, if you are interested.
For novice or experienced paragliders, we work with a local school where they do regular courses, refreshers or just fly with them under radio supervision, for greater confidence. David has quite a number of flying hours himself and will accompany you to and from the site (which has fabulous views of Mont Blanc)and maybe even get a few hours in himself! Please just ask us for more information.
