Les Contamines hosts a WTA tournament (the GDF Suez Female Open) in the summer, on its village courts. How many resorts can you say that about? OK, Gstaad hosts the Credit Agricole Swiss Open, an ATP tournament, and our neighbours in Megeve organise a vets Masters’ tournament every summer, but little Les Contamines? A WTA tournament? Yep, and ‘Jean-Lou’ manages the whole show with aplomb. So, if you want to see it in 2011, book into our chalet for 17-24 July…oops, sorry: it’s already booked. OK, maybe 2012 then.

OK, so that’s not really what the centre court (or, rather, Court No. 1) looks like (San Diego can rest now) but at least you can see the action from much closer at Les Contamines’ tennis tournament.

And another thing; remember Dominguez? Well he and his brother run a tennis camp for 4-17 year-olds, in Les Contamines, every summer. It’s very reasonable, running from Sunday to Friday, for about the price of a Coca-Cola in Megeve.
